Custom Interior Murals

Richmond, VA Mural Artist & Interior Painter

Residential Interior Painting Services

Michelle Hollender is a trusted mural artist and interior painter for projects across your home in Richmond, VA and beyond. Each project is catered to the individual taste of the homeowner. Think of her as the paintbrush and your vision as the end goal.

Some of Michelle's most requested spaces include:

  • Living Rooms – Accent walls and statement murals that turn a living room into the centerpiece of the home.

  • Nurseries – Whimsical, custom-themed murals designed to grow with your child and reflect your family's style.

  • Foyers – Bold entryway murals that make a striking first impression the moment guests walk in.

  • Stairways – Murals designed to flow naturally with the architecture, turning an overlooked space into a focal point.

  • Bathrooms – Moisture-conscious paints and finishes built to hold up in high-humidity spaces without sacrificing style.

Living Room Murals & Accent Walls

As a Richmond, VA mural artist, Michelle Hollender treats the living room as one of the highest-impact spaces in the home, since it's often the first room guests see and where families spend the most time together.

Michelle's living room murals are designed around:

Personality-driven design – Soft abstract landscapes, bold geometric patterns, or full-scale murals tailored to your style

Focal point placement – Behind the sofa, above a fireplace, or as a standalone accent wall

Natural light consideration – Color and finish choices that hold up beautifully in daylight

Room flow – Designs that consider sightlines from adjoining rooms so the mural feels intentional, not tacked on

Bathroom Murals & Interior Painting

Bathrooms present a unique painting challenge, and Michelle Hollender treats them that way. High humidity, temperature swings, and constant moisture exposure mean standard paint often peels, bubbles, or fades within a year or two. Michelle selects moisture-resistant paints and finishes specifically suited to bathroom environments, ensuring murals and accent walls hold their color and integrity even in steam-heavy conditions.

Whether it's a soft botanical scene above a soaking tub, a bold accent wall behind the vanity, or a full mural transforming a powder room, every bathroom project balances durability with design. The goal is artwork that looks as sharp in five years as it did on day one, no cracking, no peeling, no compromise on style for the sake of function.

Our process begins with a conversation…

Meet Michelle

I listen before I paint. Every project starts with getting to know you, your story, your space, what you want to feel when you walk in.

I don't do one look. Whimsical nurseries, bold botanicals, polished brand environments, I move between styles because the work is built around you.

I think like a designer, not just a painter. Years in graphic and commercial design mean every wall is composed with intention, story, scale and space all working together.

Seven years and 5,000+ square feet. Schools, cities, restaurants, homes, I've done reps and I know how to take an idea from concept to finished wall.

I actually believe this matters. I want you to want to come home.
